Amid the fast-paced rhythm of modern life, where cars and new-generation motorbikes fill every street, the old Xe Lam has become a cherished memory of the people of the Mekong Delta—a piece of the past that Út Trinh wishes to bring back so visitors can “relive a bygone era.” For this reason, the Út Trinh Vintage Xe Lam has been carefully restored, preserving the simple, rustic look of the iconic passenger vehicle that once connected Saigon and the Mekong Delta from the 1960s to the 1980s. While its original character remains intact, the vehicle has been thoughtfully renewed to ensure safe operation for tourism activities today.
Water hyacinth weaving is one of the distinctive traditional handicrafts of the Mekong Delta region. By making use of the abundant natural resources found along canals and waterways, local residents transform the water hyacinth—once considered a freely drifting, insignificant plant—into unique handcrafted products that beautifully reflect the cultural essence of the Mekong Delta.
